We’ve spent a lot of time doing 1920s makeovers and photoshoots for our vintage hen parties, and other 1920s parties and events. So I thought I’d write a few posts on what we found worked well when encouraging our hens and birthday party and Christmas party clients to pose for 1920s style photos. Here are some of the tips and tricks that we’ve discovered on our travels! We like to take inspiration from original 1920s photography, and provide a 1920s look book of original photos for inspiration at our events. From the glamorous to the simmering and sultry, from the elegant to the silly! Here is one of my all time favourite 1920s shots of iconic 1920s actress Louise Brooks with a string of long beads, on a black background. And our little recreations, taken at a 1920s hen party in Reading.
Here are some other lovely poses with beads that you can recreate – or I’m sure you could come up with your own ideas! Just buy any string of beads from a costume shop and get your 1920s style dress on and work those beads. The two on the right are Louise Brooks again.
