Ooh… I’m very excited that we’ve a booking for a new hen party in Reading in July, for a group of hens. It’s a 1920s pop up tea dance especially for them (and I’m told that Mum and Gran will be at this one too, before the Bright Young Things go out for the evening!), complete with a little dapper jazzin’ about on piano (our pianist will play some good old 1920s tunes – jazz and dance classics such as Sweet Georgia Brown, Ain’t She Sweet, The Charleston, Black Bottom, and more…) Charleston dance class, and a pop up vintage afternoon tea, at our very own old fashioned, shabby chic arts centre, the Rising Sun. We’ll be bringing down our gramophone and our bunting and our beaded lampshades and pulling out all the stops to make this a wonderful vintage summer party for them! Let’s hope this new crowd will make great flappers! There will of course, be a proper high tea in vintage china, with delicious pastries and cupcakes and bubbly, among other treats!
Who knows, I might even get some of our favourite male dancing leads along to lead them around the floor! Now that’s how to throw a 1920s party! This very same package is also available in Wallingford, Oxfordshire!
